Consonance Linear845

The Consonance Linear845 is Opera Audio's flagship integrated amplifier and the culmination of nearly 30 years in pursuit of the "human" in music reproduction. 

The Linear 845 is a single-ended tube integrated amplifier, operating in pure Class A mode to provide uninhibited dynamics, texture and musical flow. A carefully developed driver stage is utilized to maximize the characteristics of the legendary 845 transmitter tube.

The amplifier has two pairs of RCA unbalanced inputs as well as two pairs of XLR balanced inputs, to accomodate any line-level audio source. 

Build specs include the highest quality components and materials. Custom output and power transformers are employed, as well as a sealed EIZZ stepped potentiometer, RA resistors, Auricap XO capacitors, Swedish Lundahl input transformers, and point-to-point wiring to ensure the highest quality signal path.

Listening notes – This thing is a bit nuts and decidedly NOT a typical “845 amp”. The drive and sheer musical life it lets loose is a joy. It’s a big amp and sounds that way. Big and untethered. Also beautiful. It exhibits purity like a proper single ended amp while simultaneously laying down chunky, funky bass lines that make you want to dance in your seat. There can’t be many average to higher sensitivity speakers that the 845 wouldn’t bring to life.
